Capital letters and punctuation

Is it maandag or Maandag, Belgisch or belgisch? Dutch uses capitals for names and the start of a sentence, and punctuation tells you how to read a sentence.

Years 5-6 of primary and 1st stage of secondary school10 to 13 yearsDraft: Not yet checked by a Dutch teacher.

Why

op maandag gaan we naar gent or Op maandag gaan we naar Gent. Which sentence is easier to read, and why?

A capital letter shows where a sentence begins and which words are names. A full stop or a question mark tells you where the sentence ends and how to read it.

Dutch has a few rules of its own. Days and months are written with a small letter, but the names of languages and of the people who live somewhere get a capital. If you are used to English or French, you sometimes expect something different.
